New Delhi: The results of UGC NET Jan 2017 are expected to be declared by 15 April 2017. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully conducted National Eligibility Test (NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) on 22 January 2017 (Sunday). A Large number of candidates appeared the test. The CBSE conducted NET Jan 2017 in 84 subjects at 90 selected examination centres spreading across the country.
The results will be declared on its official website cbse.nic.in . Once results are declared, candidates can check their qualification status and cut off marks of various subjects. The results will be uploaded on its official website of NET exam of CBSE with separate page mentioning UGC NET Jan Results 2017.

UGC-NET is viewed as one of the toughest examinations among national tests. For each exam, nearly 6-7 lakh candidates register to appear the test. As per the UGC annual report, in June NET 2014 and Dec NET 2014, 5.39 lakh and 6.20 lakh candidates appeared for eligibility for Assistant Professor, respectively. On the other hand, nearly 3.71 lakh and 4.23 lakh candidates appeared for Junior Research Fellowship for June UGC-NET 2014 and DEC-NET 2014, respectively.
UGC NET test is conducted to select eligible candidates for awarding Junior Research Fellowship. Further, for candidates plan to pursue career in lectureship/ Assistant Professor in colleges and universities, they have to clear UGC NET.
