New Delhi: University of Delhi, a Central University, has announced Admission for 2020-21 for Under Graduate, Post Graduate and MPhil/PhD Progarmmes. The Admission portal has been opened from 20 June 2020.
For PhD and MPhil Admission, the university has not released any seat matrix for AY 2020-21 till now. The University has given indicative Seat Matrix as per AY 2019-20. These may vary in 2020 – 21, which will be updated by DU.
As per indicative 2019-20 seat matrix, the total number of PhD seats are 1019 while the total number of MPhil seats are 609.
Major Faculties where vacant MPhil or PhD seats exist are as followed: Arts, Applied Social Sciences &
Humanities, Commerce & Business Studies, Education, Inter Disciplinary & Applied Sciences, Music & Fine Arts, Law, Mathematical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Science.
For MPhil/PhD Programme Programmes: Admission to MPhil/PhD Programme is through entrance examination, followed by an interview. Entrance Test will conducted by the NTA, Delhi University Entrance Test for MPhil and PhD Progarmmes.
Applicants seeking admission in M. Phil./Ph.D. programme shall go through― Clause B “Procedure for Admission” of Ordinance VI and its amendments ( point 2 and 3) [Annexure-X: Ordinance VI and its amendments: Procedure for Award of Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree] to check if they are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test. However, interview is mandatory for all applicants.

For PhD Programmes, the closing date for application portal is 04 July 2020.
The dates for Entrance Examinations for all these programmes will be announced later.
