Vadodara: The maiden convocation of IIIT Vadodara was held on 3rd November 2018. 150 graduates were awarded their degree for B.Tech programme. 36 of them are graduates of year 2017 and 114 of year 2018.
Shri O. P. Kohli, the Hon’ble Governorshri of Gujarat was the Chief Guest. The Hon’ble Governorshri blessed the graduates and advised to take learnings from the rich traditions of our great country and apply them for the benefit of society in general in the modern world. He also advised them to have scientific temperament and respect the value system. He presented the medals to the graduates who were first among equals.
Mr KPS Harish Krupo, a graduate of year 2017 and Ms Ayyar Meghna Parmeswaran, a graduate of 2018 were awarded the Chairperson Gold Medal for their excellence in academia.
The Institute also awarded Institutional Gold and Silver medals in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) to Mr KPS Harish Krupo and Mr Anjul Kumar Tyagi respectively for their excellence in academia for the graduation year 2017. For the academic year 2018, the Institution Medals were awarded to Ms Ayyar Meghna Parmeswaran and Mr Kartik Sayani for CSE, Mr Vijay Anand and Ms Anjali Kumari for Information Technology (IT).
Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman AICTE was the Guest of Honour. He appreciated the achievements of the institute and the role AICTE is playing in the Higher education in general and Technical Education in particular.
The Director Prof. Sarat K. Patra presented the Convocation Address and Institute Report highlighting the achievement of the Institute over the first five year of existence. He thanked all who nurtured the institute in its formative years.
Prof. S C Sahasrabudhe, Prof. Nagraj Ramrao and Prof KS Dasgupta the former “Mentor Directors” of the Institute were present to grace the occasion.
