New Delhi, August 8, 2019: July 2019 posted the highest talent demand in all of 2019, noting 9% M-o-M and 15% Y-o-Y uptick at the TimesJobs RecruiteX. The trend comes as the silver lining at the time when high-volume industries are reeling under slowdown.

TimesJobs RecruiteX is a monthly recruitment index that records the demand and supply of talent.

July 2019 noted a double-digit growth in the Y-o-Y comparison of all the top 10 industrial sectors. This trend is like July 2018 trend which had also noted the highest talent demand in all of 2018. In July 2018, the BPO, Projects and Infrastructure and Petrochemicals/Oil and Gas had emerged as the top three sectors with maximum talent demand.

Commenting on the findings of RecruiteX July 2019 edition, Sanjay Goyal, Business Head, TimesJobs and TechGigsaid, “In July 2019, most industrial sectors posted impressive growth in talent demand both in the Y-o-Y and M-o-M analysis. This is very promising, and it indicates that most companies are considering ramping up their workforce and gearing up for action in the coming days. I must mention here that the BPO sector – which was among the top three sectors for talent demand in July 2018 – has retained its spot among the top 10 list in July 2019 too. The uptick in demand can be linked to the upcoming festive season which is marked with high businesses activity”.

July 2019 noted a 9% hike in the monthly analysis of overall talent demand. The Retail, BFSI and BPO emerged as the top three sectors with maximum growth in talent demand. The Retail sector noted 20% growth, followed by the BFSI and BPO sectors both recording 17% uptick in the talent demand.

Functional area-wise, Banks/Insurance/Financial Services (18% growth), Doctors/Nurses/Medical Professionals (16% growth) and Customer Service/Tele Calling (11% growth) recorded the highest spike in talent demand, respectively. A comparison of June 2019 v/s July 2019 revealed that Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Vadodara witnessed the steepest growth in talent demand.

Also, professionals with more than 20 years of work experience were most in-demand in the M-o-M comparison with 16% increment in the talent demand. This was followed by the demand for people with 10-20 years of work experience (14% growth).
