Jaipur: IIHMR University, Jaipur celebrated the 75th Independence Day of India on15th August, 2021 in the premises of the University.

The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by thehonourable chairperson of IIHMR University, Dr. S.D Gupta and the President of the University, Dr. P.R Sodani; followed by the playing of the National Anthem. The celebration was attended by the faculty and staff members under strict COVID-19 protocols and guidelines as per the Government of India.

Thereafter, Dr. Gupta addressed the gathering and recalled the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and expressed the university’s commitment to work towards realizing the dreams of our founding fathers and the objectives set out by the government and leadership at IIHMR University. He also talked about the present high stature of India in its 75th year of Independence with the milestones it has achieved and challenges it overcome during the current crisis of the pandemic.

Later, Dr. Sodani wished the IIHMR family a very Happy Independence Day and expressed his deepest gratitude towards Dr. Gupta for his presence and his address to the gathering. He also talked about the role of IIHMR University in building ‘New India’ as envisaged by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji and how the University has been on the forefront with its expertise in healthcare systems and management in managing the current pandemic crisis, especially in Rajasthan, and in taking ahead the agenda of adequately managing thepandemic crisis in the state by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot. He also admitted that although he missed the presence of students at the ceremony, but is glad to be able to reach out to them through the virtual means.

Later, the event went ahead with the cultural program set up by IIHMR students and Independence Day Poster Presentation by students through a virtual means to celebrate the spirit of Indian Independence through unity in diversity.

This was followed by the Tree Plantation drive in campus on the occasion of the Independence Day, as a part of the Tree Plantation Week celebrated at IIHMR University from August 10-17, 2021. During tree plantation drive; Chairperson and President of the University alongwith faculty and staff members planted saplings in the IIHMR premises.

The Independence Day celebration and tree plantation was concluded through a thanks giving speech.

With the help of official social media handles, University reached out to theextended IIHMR familyto celebrate 75th Independence Day of India in a virtual manner through a live telecast of the ceremony.
