New Delhi : Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi co-organized and hosted the InnoHEALTH 2022 on 9th and 10th of December, 2022. InnoHEALTH is an annual event of InnovatioCuris (IC), a unique organization, which brings deep healthcare expertise, a scientific rigour on applying global innovation models & management processes by leveraging IT to deliver healthcare at an optimum cost.

The theme for this year’s event was Digital Health, walking in the path of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Policymakers, healthcare thought leaders, providers, academicians and scientists, and innovators were invited to deliberate on Healthcare Delivery, Health Research & Development, Affordable Treatment, and Digital Health Infrastructure in the country.

The event hosted discussions on diverse areas of digital health, including universal health coverage, artificial intelligence, healthcare data, ethics, and inclusion and digital skilling of the healthcare workforce. It aligns with the goals and objectives of the National Health Policy (NHP) 2017, National Education Policy 2020, and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to create a digital infrastructure for providing healthcare services across the country.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director IIIT-Delhi said “By pursuing a cohesive, sustainable approach with the help of new-gen technologies, healthcare delivery is witnessing rapid innovation and improved outcomes. Embracing such innovative technologies, the digital-first approach can enhance patient-centricity and is the need of the hour”. He also added that “IIIT-Delhi started the Centre of Excellence on Healthcare two years back. Since then, the centre has been making tremendous progress in this space. The centre also designed WashKaro app which was very useful during the Covid times. Two faculty members from the Institute were also on the team to develop the Delhi Governments’ official Delhi Corona App.”

IIIT-Delhi and ScanBalt also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with during InnoHEALTH 2022 conference. This partnership aims to develop cooperation in the digital health field jointly. Supporting each other in the outreach on relevant Digital Health activities and events. The collaboration will also help in exchanging best practices through one–to–one meetings and public webinars/seminars between EU and India.

During the Inaugural session Dr. Jaanus Pikani, Chairman, ScanBalt & Tartu Biotechnology Park said “The acceptance of digital health applications, including teleconsultations, is at much higher levels post covid 19. I think that a lot of governments, policymakers and healthcare providers  have now realised that they need to accelerate the use of these digital services for end to end delivery of healthcare facilities”

This year’s Young Innovator’s Award received a total of 102 nominations from various parts of India. The innovations included, innovation like Clip-on light tracker (MyLyt) for estimating light exposure in real time, Embedded device to detect harmful gases and dangerous situations in coal mines, Micro ECG – A compact and portable ECG machine, Prescribe diets for reducing the glycemic index and detect diabetic complication issues using machine learning and neural networks, Reduce fluorine levels in the drinking water through natural fluorine filter (water pot) and natural materials, IoT based device to Track leg motion activity of normal and orthotic person and suggest an exercise based on their Gait analysis.
