New Delhi: Celebrating AzadikaAmritMahotsav, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) organized SanskritikSangam- a Cultural Confluence, on July 22, 2022 at the AICTE headquarter in New Delhi.
Students from two paired states participated in this cultural event. Students from Uttar Pradesh-Arunachal Pradesh, and Haryana-Telangana participated under the cultural exchange program.
Educational institutions like Birla Institute of Management Technology, GautamBuddh Nagar, Jayamukhi Institute of Technological Sciences, Warangal, ManavRachna International Institute of Research and Studies, Faridabad and State NSS Cell, Govt. of Arunachal Pradeshtook part in the SanskritikSangam.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, ManavRachna International Institute of Research and Studies, Faridabad and Prof.HarivanshChaturvedi, Director, Birla Institute of Management Technology, GautamBuddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, were also present at the cultural event.
Chairman of AICTE Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, on this occasion, said, “The objective of AKAM-EBSB student tour is to showcase the rich heritage and culture, customs and traditions of states for enabling people to understand and appreciate the diversity that is India, thus fostering a sense of common identity. The young generation is the torchbearer of preserving Infian ethos, cultural values and tradition which are praised and respected all over the world. To establish long-term engagements between States and Union Territories, such cultural exchange programes provide a wide array of opportunities to better understand the diversity of the country.”
A student from Uttar Pradesh who participated in SankritikSangam, said, “It is a great opportunity to represent Uttar Pradesh at SanskritikSangam. The confluence of Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati at Snagam, Prayagraj lies in UP and the culture of our state is thousands years old that goes back to Indus Valley Civilization. Hence, it is matter of pride for me to share my cultural ethos with our brothers and sisters of other states and get the knowledge of their values at the same time. I thank AICTE and Ministry of Education to give me this platform.”
Another student from Telangana highlighted the uniqueness of state’s art & culture. “Telangana is a beautiful amalgamation of folk and carnatic music. A lot of variations lies in the roots and cultural ethos of Telangana state. This vibrant state is abode to many diverse religions, festivals, cuisines and dance. Today, i was able to showcase all these qualities through the SanskritikSangam. I profoundly thank AICTE and Min of Edu for this initiative. I am overwhelmed with the love and respect for our culture here. “
A student from Arunachal Pradesh’s Capital Itanagar expressed his happiness on participating in the event and said, “I am so happy after the love, respect and warmth the people of Uttar Pradesh showered on us. I do not feel i am far away from home, i feel i am home. I would like to thank AICTE and Ministry of Education for facilitating us share our culture, tradition and lifestyle. I cannot be more proud, i can say that i am a proud Indian.”
Mrs. Neeta Prasad (IAS), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, GoI, in her address highlighted upon the advantages of such tours and the personal connections students can make for lifetime. She said, “Programing a tour on such a large scale was a challenging task but i would like to thank all the stakeholders and especially AICTE for their contribution and making this tour, under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat mission, successful. The energy and enthusisasm of all the students were extremely high. It was evident that they are happy with this cultural exchange program. It would give them a sense of togetherness and enables them learn from each other’s cultures, traditions and values. The personal connections they make today would remain with them for their lifetime.”
AICTE’s Vice-Chairman Dr. M P Poonia also addressed the gathering. Ms. NanuBhashin, ADG, PIB, Prof Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE, Dr RavindraSoni Adviser also graced the Sanskrit Sangam. Dr. Nikhil Kant, Deputy Director, AICTE, proposed Vote of Thanks.
