Ahmedabad : Anant National University, India’s first DesignX University, based in Ahmedabad, is honoured to serve as a nodal centre for the New India Vibrant Hackathon 2023 for the second consecutive year. The Hackathon saw over 600 college and school students from across India convening at the university. Together, they engaged in addressing a diverse array of challenges presented by the state government and academic institutions nationwide. Distinguishing itself on this grand stage, Anant National University is thrilled to announce that 30 of its remarkable students have been selected to advance to the prestigious Regional Round.
The Vibrant Hackathon is an open innovation challenge, uniting state government entities and academia to provide a platform for the younger generation to tackle real-world issues. Over 250 problem statements from various government departments and industry stakeholders were presented, spanning domains such as climate change, automation, smart policing, and healthcare.
Participating teams at the Hackathon delved into a multitude of challenges, spanning different government departments and industry sectors. These included enhancing the Sports Games Management System for the Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities Department, transforming Anganwadi infrastructure with the “Swiftangan” modular approach for the Women and Child Development Department, exploring innovative applications for recycled plastics in public spaces for the Municipal Corporation, developing a field diagnostic kit for infectious diseases, and formulating sustainable manufacturing processes for textiles.
The New India Vibrant Hackathon has been orchestrated by the State Education Department and the Student Startup & Innovation Policy of the Government of Gujarat. This event serves as a prelude to the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
