Jaipur: Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur (BSDU) invites applications for the 3-year Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) programs in Manufacturing. The B.Voc curriculum has 60% Skills and 40% General Education Component.  To supplement the skills acquired at the BSDU, students are sent for industrial internship every alternate semester.  UGC has included BSDU in its list of universities, vide UGC letter no. F.8-14/2017 (CPP-I/PU) dated 04 August 2017 and has approved B.Voc and M.Voc programs based on the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) to address the critical requirements of Skill sets to make graduates industry- ready. These programs are now equivalent to any other graduation degree program. Students under these programs shall acquire the necessary skills to work in the IT departments of any organization.

In addition to excellent job opportunities in manufacturing, B.Voc and M.Voc degree holders are also eligible for Govt. jobs including  IAS, Defense Service, State Services, Banks etc.

Brig. SS Pabla, President BSDU said, “Out of the total six semesters, students in the second, fourth and sixth semesters are trained in the Industry tied –up with BSDU. Here skills learnt in the University are practiced in real-time industry environment. The first, third and fifth semesters are well illustrated at the university campus. In the first semester, students are equipped with basics of hand-skill training, turning, milling, assembly and measuring tools. In the third semester, some subjects from first semester are reviewed and in-depth training on CNC machines, programming, CAD-CAM subjects are given. In the fifth semester, which is the final semester with University, students are given specialized trainings in the most advanced production machines and are made Industry-Ready”.

• Last date for submission of Application form: 5th August, 2018
• Number of seats: 30
• Program duration: 3 years
• Fees: Rs. 60,000 p.a. (Total fee 1.8 Lacs for three years)
• Admission Process: Entrance Test conducted at BSDU Jaipur, covering the general syllabus of 10+2.
• Credits: 6 Semesters (30 credits each)
• Credits in Total: 180 credits
• Eligibility: 10 + 2 with PCM or two years ITI after 10th or Polytechnic Diploma.

Program specifications:

The B.Voc program is modular in nature and offers multiple entry and exit points at Certificate,     Diploma, Advanced Diploma and B.Voc. It has 6 semesters with 30 credits each resulting in a total of 180 credits to earn a B.Voc degree as follows:

Students having skills in manufacturing are being placed in all industries, big or small, including engineering tools industry, automobile parts manufacturers, machine tools manufacturers, metal tooling industries, etc. and are handling responsible positions such as that of a supervisor for a manufacturing / fitting section, Maintenance specialist, Quality specialist, Production supervisor / planner / agent. Due to excellent skill practice and industrial knowledge, these students can also setup an operation of advanced manufacturing machines after 3 years of training at BSDU.
