Jaipur, India, 8th May 2018: Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur (BSDU) invites applications for the 3-year Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) programs in IT/Networking. The B.Voc and M.Voc curriculum has 60% Skills and 40% General Education Component.  To supplement the skills acquired at the BSDU, students are sent for industrial internship every alternate semester.  The UGC has included BSDU in its list of universities, vide UGC letter no. F.8-14/2017 (CPP-I/PU) dated 04 August 2017. The UGC has approved B.Voc and M.Voc programs based on the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) to address the critical requirements of Skill sets to make the graduates industry ready. These programs are now equivalent to any other graduation degree program. Students under these programs shall acquire the necessary skills to work in the IT departments of any organization.

Brig. SS Pabla, President BSDU said, “We are surrounded by smart devices that need better platforms and network architectures to support usage of these devices to our advantage. The top five IT firms contribute over 25% of the total industry revenue, indicating that the market is fairly competitive.  Considering this aspect, the scope of IT (Networking) Skills is quite wide. The B.Voc program in the discipline of IT (Networking) has been designed to introduce students to the operations of today’s complex networking infrastructure by giving them a comprehensive understanding, basic to advanced, of various networking setups, troubleshooting, repair of specific hardware and software products  and of course setting secure networking connections, facilitating ease of network usage. The Skill Component essentially covers the skills needed in a given area and is almost entirely hands-on work on the state-of-the-art machines and equipment sourced from the best brands worldwide.”

Program specifications: The B.Voc program is modular in nature and offers multiple entry and exit points at Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma and B.Voc. It has 6 semesters with 30 credits each resulting in a total of 180 credits to earn a B.Voc degree as follows:

In addition to excellent job opportunities in Computing and IT, the B.Voc/M.Voc degree holder will also be eligible for Govt. jobs such as IAS, IPS, Defense Officers and other Central and State Services.

  • B.Voc and M.Voc are UGC approved degrees, equivalent to any other graduate/postgraduate degrees, and are based on the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) to address the critical requirements of Skill sets in the country.

Course:  B.Voc in IT/Networking Skills

Number of seats:  30 in each B.Voc program

Program duration:  3 years for B.Voc

Fees: Rs. 60,000 p.a. Total fee 1.8 Lacs for three years

Admission Process: Entrance Test conducted at BSDU Jaipur, covering the general syllabus of 10+2.

Application Dates:  Starting 1st May 2018 – Last date for submission of Applications is 30th June 2018

Credits:  B.Voc is of 6 Semesters (30 credits each)

Credits in Total: 180 credits for B.Voc

Eligibility: To apply for B.Voc in IT/networking skills, the student must have passed 10 + 2 with PCM or two years ITI after 10th or Polytechnic Diploma.
