VARANASI : Banaras Hindu University is all set to host the 17th All India Conference of Paediatric Endo surgeons being organized by Department of Paediatric Surgery, Institute of Medical Sciences, from 8th to 10th April, 2022. The conference will see leading paediatric surgeons from premier medical institutions from all over India congregate over three days to discuss and share ideas on various topics around the theme of “Scope of minimally invasive procedure for surgical ailments in new bones and small children.” The event is expected to open new avenues in Endoscopic surgery in newborns & children and to avail of advances in technology to this population as well.

Addressing a press conference at the media hall of Information and Public Relations Office, Banaras Hindu University, Dr. Vaibhav Pandey, Department of Paediatric Surgery, said that renowned paediatric surgeons and experts from institutions like AIIMS New Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, SGPGI Lucknow, KGMU Lucknow, RIIMS Ranchi, RML New Delhi, KEM Mumbai, BOMBAY hospital, Apollo Hospital Chennai, AIIMS Patna and many more will be attending the conference. Experts, researchers and medical professionals will share insights on key focus areas related to Paediatric Endo surgery. There will also be an operative workshop in which eminent surgeons will demonstrate some salient endoscopic surgeries on LIVE Platform.

Senior Paediatric Surgeon and former Head, Department of Paediataric Surgery, Prof. A N Gangopadhyay, who is also the Organizing Chairperson of the conference, informed that this is for the first time that this conference is taking place in North India. He added that it is a matter of great honour and pride that BHU’s Department of Paediatric Surgery has been given the opportunity to host this prestigious event.

Dr. Shashi Mishra, Department of General Surgery, said that the inauguration ceremony of the conference will take place in Malaviya Mulya Ansuheelan Kendra, BHU. Rector, BHU, Prof. V. K. Shukla will inaugurate the conference, in the august presence of Prof. B R Mittal, Director, Institute of Medical Sciences.

The conference will also have research paper presentations on various topics, for which entries from different parts of the country have been received. The conference is expected to be of maximum benefit for young and budding Paediatric Surgeons with the aim to improve the surgical care in newborns and children.
