Mumbai, 10th July 2018: Council of Education and Development program (CEDP), Premier Skill Development Institute Keeping the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry recently organised an Industrial visit to The Lalit Mumbai for their Hotel Management students in order to provide them insight about the functioning within the industry.

The purpose of this visit was to enhance the knowledge of the students to provide them with industrial exposure that paves the way for the right skills for the right jobs. The students got in-depth knowledge about the hotel & its sub departments which plays an important role in their business.

Mrs Shaheen Khan, Director of CEDP Skill Institute Mumbai said that, “Our dedication to providing our students only the best and supporting them in their pursuit of various managerial concepts and knowledge will benefit our students and puts everyone in direct contact with industry experts which as a whole will enhance student’s ability to accelerate information sharing, and provide them in-depth knowledge about hospitality industry”.

During this visit, students also got to know about the Asia’s Largest Atrium lobby, followed by the boardroom and then the Room service department (Intro, timings & functions). These entire departments were explained in short by Mr.Pasang from F&B service department in the hotel.

The students were also briefed about  the various other departments and thereafter  they visited conference rooms, lobby, banquets, board room, laundry, hotel rooms, bar, basement, back area, banquet halls-royal crown, emerald, pearl, private, executive rooms, twin rooms, suites, king size double bed rooms. Students found this visit very useful.

The Staff at Lalit Hotel was very cooperative and demonstrated the technical faculties to their extent. The staff member guided students on each and every question with detailed answers. It is rightly said that “See & know” is better than “read & learn”. Students really got the real exposure about company’s functioning after this visit. They got a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implication.

CEDP, the pioneer institute in skill development and training keeps on organising various types of industry tours on behalf of the students to give them the first hand information , while at the same time maintaining a balance between industry and academia.
