Bhubaneswar : The CSR Cell of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar is all set to hold its first-ever CSR Conclave on 27th February 2024. The conclave shall delve around the theme of ‘Uniting for a Sustainable Impact’.

The one-day CSR Conclave will witness keynote speeches by distinguished industry leaders, CSR experts, and policymakers. Dr. Prasanta Kumar Hota, President & Group Head-CSR, Education & Head (Corporate Communication), Jindal Steel & Power Limited will grace the occasion as the chief guest. It may be mentioned that Jindal Steel & Power Limited has been consistently working towards the development of the people in its periphery in Odisha through well-planned CSR initiatives. The company has recently been honoured with the CSR & Sustainability Award 2024, in the category of Water Conservation and Management for its outstanding contribution to the development of farmers in Angul in Odisha, through integrated watershed management projects in collaboration with NABARD.

Shri B.K. Mishra, Convener of the Odisha CSR Forum will also join as a plenary speaker in the conclave. Panel discussions on ‘Uniting for Sustainable Impact: A Corporate Perspectives on CSR’ and ‘Collaboration for Social Impact’ will be a part of this programme, wherein industry leaders in the field of CSR and representatives from NGOs, academia, and government agencies will deliberate on the greater objectives of CSR through a collaborative approach. The conclave will also have a workshop session featuring paper presentations by representatives of different institutions.

Informing about the conclave, Prof. Naresh Chandra Sahu, Professor-in-Charge, CSR Cell, IIT Bhubaneswar and Convener of the programme, said: “CSR Conclave 2024, themed “Uniting for Sustainable Impact,” will serve as a platform for thought leaders, industry experts, academicians, and CSR enthusiasts to converge, exchange ideas, and collaborate towards driving meaningful change. This is expected to provide a stage for industry leaders to join hands with change-makers and sustainability experts.”

The CSR Conclave 2024 will witness the participation of students, research scholars, industry leaders, changemakers, sustainability experts, academicians, government representatives, and investors interested in driving positive change and advancing sustainability efforts, particularly within the realm of Corporate Social Responsibility.
