Felicitation Program of Master Chef India 2023 winners

On a felicitation ceremony, for Mr. Nayan Jyoti Saikia and Mrs. Shanta Sharma, the winners of Master Chef 2023 was held at  Assam down town University organized by Faculty of Commerce and Management. As a part of the program, a Chef Competition called ‘Rock on Fire’ was arranged, in which 9 teams consisting of Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHMCT) students took part. The teams were required to showcase their culinary skills and creativity by preparing dishes of exceptional quality.
Both the judges were overwhelmed by the efforts of all the participants. Out of 9 teams, 3 teams were declared winners.
Winner: Elite Five
Team Members: Chureshwar Sanasam, Aditya Das, Wapangmongla Ozukum,                              Olivia Marbaniang, Sakhit Bey
1st – Thunder Dargon: Anjali Biswas, Hang Moti Limbu, Khumukham Sophiya Devi,     Roson Thapa, Shree Kumar Khandal
2nd –  Team Aloopitika :  Milan Das, Goda Rumpa, Hibu Yaka, Palden Tamang, Pinky Thapa.
After the judgement, a felicitation program was organized at Auditorium 1 to honour the achievement of Mr. Nayan Jyoti Saikia and Mrs. Shanta Sharma. The program was attended by the Commerce and Management faculty members and the students, as well as the Chancellor – Dr. N.N. Dutta, Vice Chancellor – Prof. Dr. N C Talukdar, Pro-Vice Chancellor – Prof. Dr.Pranveer Singh, Dean of Studies – Prof. Dr. Bandana Dutta, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management – Prof. Dr.Ramanjeet Singh, Additional Registrar (Administration)-Ashim Barman, trustee members and students and teachers from Down Town School. The program aimed to celebrate the achievement and acknowledge the hard work and dedication of all those involved.
After the Vice Chancellor’s welcome speech, the MasterChef winners shared their experiences. The dignitaries, along with the winners, formally inaugurated the “Limca Book of Records” certificate for making 517 assorted pastries in 3 hours and 44 minutes in which a team of 25 in- house chefs comprising students and faculty of Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHMCT) participated, organised on 11th may 2022. A prize distribution ceremony was also held, where all the winners were awarded trophies and certificates. Following this, Prof. Dr.Ramanjeet Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, delivered the vote of thanks.
