New Delhi – Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) is proud to announce that its B.Tech. Computer Science and Social Sciences student, Aanya Singh, has won the Gold Medal at the 21st National Figure Skating Championship. The championship was held at the Himadri Ice Rink.
Aanya has achieved an extraordinary feat by winning her second consecutive National Championship Gold Medal since coming to IIIT-Delhi. This latest victory can also be counted as her eighth consecutive National Championship Gold Medal, showcasing Aanya’s consistency, determination, and excellence in the sport.
Aanya’s recent victory demonstrates the hard work, preparation, and determination she has put into preparing for the Championship. Before she participated in the championship event, Aanya had been involved in a very intensive training camp for Figure Skating with an Australian coach. During this time, she was able to concentrate on developing her technical skill base; growing her competitive performance in a disciplined manner; and remaining dedicated to continue improving herself in every aspect of Figure Skating.
Speaking about her achievement, Aanya Singh said, “Winning my eighth consecutive National Championship and my second Gold Medal as an IIIT-Delhi student is a truly special milestone for me. People often see the medals, but what they don’t see are the years of discipline, setbacks, and countless hours of training behind each one. Even after winning more than 25 national medals, every competition feels like starting from scratch, and every medal has to be earned all over again. That is the mindset I carry into every season—I practice like I’ve never won and compete like I’ve never lost. I am incredibly grateful to my coaches, my family, and the IIIT-Delhi community for believing in me throughout this journey. Their support has given me the confidence to keep aiming higher, and I look forward to representing both India and IIIT-Delhi on even bigger platforms.”
