The first cohort of its state-of-the-art AI/ML executive program has already attracted 400 participants from 127 leading technology companies, and will be available in Bengaluru starting June 2018. The program is offered in association with TalentSprint.

The AI/ML executive program is designed by IIIT-H’s Kohli Center on Intelligent Systems, India’s premier research cluster for Artificial Intelligence. Its groundbreaking research in language technology, computer vision, data sciences, robotics, cognitive sciences and machine learning is recognized by researchers the world over. Last year, the Center’s research was featured in 312 publications and received 5792 citations. Prof P.J. Narayan was elected Fellow of INAE and Prof. C.V. Jawahar was elected Fellow of IAPR.

The AI/ML executive program, directed by Prof. C.V. Jawahar, has certain unique objectives. To make India a global AI/ML hub, the program enables a rapid transfer of latest research insights to industry practitioners. To maximize learning effectiveness, it combines lectures with online and offline labs, expert mentoring, industry workshops and team hackathons. To improve gender diversity in deep and disruptive technologies, it gives a major impetus to working and returning women professionals by offering special scholarships.

According to Dr. P. J. Narayanan, Director, IIIT-H, “The complexity of AI/ML calls for a unique program design, so that it can be absorbed by technology professionals with conventional backgrounds. We are very encouraged by the enthusiastic response from participants who are hailing the format, delivery, and effectiveness of the program as a game changer. Bengaluru, the hotspot of disruptive technologies and exciting startups, will play a pivotal role in the overall success of this program.”

According to Dr. Santanu Paul, MD & CEO, TalentSprint, “AI/ML technology is rewriting all the rules of the software industry. It is a once-in-a-generation paradigm shift. The scale up we are announcing today will make it the largest executive education initiative in the field of AI/ML. Working professionals are pressed for time and need fast track interventions to reinvent themselves. We are very pleased to collaborate with IIIT-H in making Bengaluru a major hub for the program.”

International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasts that global spending worldwide for cognitive computing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence will continue to see significant corporate investment over the next several years, achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 54.4% through 2020 when revenues will be more than $46 billion. According to Gartner, AI will add 2.3 million jobs by 2020. In this rapidly changing ecosystem, IT Executives, irrespective of stage of career, need fluency in deep and disruptive technologies.
