LUCKNOW : Indian Institute of Management Lucknow Noida Campus, in collaboration with Pansari Group, hosted an industry-academia case competition to foster experiential learning. Graced by the presence of Mr. Shammi Agarwal, Managing Director, Pansari Group, the event witnessed participation from 23 teams from the 19th batch of IPMX, IIM Lucknow’s one-year full-time Executive MBA programme.
Known for its cohort comprising experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds, the IPMX batch brought a unique mix of intellectual discipline and practical business insight. The competition challenged each team to address real-world operational and supply chain challenges faced by Pansari Group.
The competition also witnessed the presence of senior faculty members and institute leadership of the Institute, including Prof. Satyabhusan Dash, Dean, IIML Noida campus; Prof. Kaushik Bhattacharya, Chairperson, Student Affairs, IIML Nodia campus; and Prof. Arvind Shroff from the Operations Management area, IIM Lucknow, among others.
Following multiple evaluation rounds, the top 6 teams were shortlisted to present their solutions before a jury panel comprising senior leadership from Pansari Group. During the final round, Mr. Shammi Agarwal, along with other senior company representatives, interacted with the shortlisted teams and assessed their proposed strategies.
The final presentations showcased a combination of analytical thinking, operational understanding, and problem-solving capabilities. After a highly competitive round of deliberations, three teams emerged as winners of the competition.
Speaking about the solutions presented during the competition, Prof. Satyabhusan Dash, Dean, IIM Lucknow Noida campus, said, “Participating teams developed strategic and scalable recommendations focused on critical business areas including inventory management, demand forecasting, shelf-life optimisation, and distributor network efficiency, some key priorities for rapidly expanding FMCG enterprises operating at scale.”
The competition served as a unique platform for IIM Lucknow IPMX students to apply classroom concepts to real-world business scenarios while engaging directly with industry leaders and decision-makers. It also highlighted the importance of strengthening industry-academia collaboration to prepare future-ready business leaders.
By promoting experiential learning and practical problem-solving, the initiative reinforced IIM Lucknow’s commitment to developing industry-ready management professionals equipped to navigate complex business environments.
