IIM Ranchi proudly hosted the inaugural ceremony of its flagship business event, the Management Conclave 2024. Shri Pramod Agrawal, chairman of the Bombay Stock Exchange, was the event’s chief guest. Joining him were Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi, and Prof. Varun Elembilassery, Chairperson of the Corporate Relations Committee.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the official start of the conclave. Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava then delivered the opening address, warmly welcoming all attendees to this annual event. He extended a special welcome to Shri Pramod Agrawal and commended Prof. Varun Elembilassery and his team for their efforts in organizing the event. Prof. Srivastava highlighted the importance of the conclave from a business perspective and emphasized the relevance of multidisciplinary courses offered in the 6th term, particularly in law, ethics, and sustainability.
Shri Pramod Agrawal, in his address, shared his extensive experience and insights with the audience. As Chairman of the Bombay Stock Exchange and a distinguished visiting faculty member at IIM Ranchi, Mr. Agrawal’s career spans over three decades in public administration. He discussed the pressing issues of ecological imbalance and the impact of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need for solutions from both the supply and demand sides. Mr. Agrawal highlighted the critical role of ethics in balancing sustainability and profitability, urging that a portion of our income should be invested in sustainable development to secure the future. Following his address, Prof. Srivastava felicitated Shri Pramod Agrawal, acknowledging his contributions to the event.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Varun Elembilassery, who expressed his gratitude to all those involved in making the inaugural ceremony of the Management Conclave, Edition 2, a success. He announced the launch of a national-level case competition in collaboration with industry partners and a nationwide case competition hosted by the subject area clubs of IIM Ranchi.
