IIT Delhi Partners with Yamaha Motor Solutions India to Drive Impactful Research in Emerging Technologies

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has entered into a long-term strategic research collaboration with Yamaha Motor Solutions (India) Private Limited (YMSLI), a Yamaha Motor Group Company. This engagement was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IIT Delhi, aiming to bring together academic excellence and industrial expertise.

At the core of the partnership is the newly established Emerging Technologies and Innovation Lab (ETIL) at IIT Delhi, which will serve as a joint platform for innovation and co-creation. The lab will focus on advancing key research themes such as AI, Agritech, Healthcare, Autonomous Mobility Road Safety and Robotics. Through this initiative, IIT Delhi aims to drive cutting-edge innovation and foster a vibrant, collaborative industry–academia ecosystem.

Emphasizing the significance of the partnership, Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations at IIT Delhi, stated, “This collaboration represents an important milestone for IIT Delhi, enhancing industry linkages and expanding opportunities for advanced research in innovation, sustainability, and emerging technologies. It moves us beyond conventional boundaries and establishes a new benchmark for meaningful, high-impact partnerships”.

Speaking about the MoU with IIT Delhi, Mr Sanjay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, YMSLI, said, “At YMSLI, we are continuously working towards creating technologies that improve customer experiences and deliver real value to businesses. Our collaboration with IIT Delhi represents a shared commitment to turning research and ideas into practical solutions that are future-ready and address real-world challenges. By combining academic excellence with industry expertise, we aim to accelerate technology development and nurture the next generation of engineers and innovators”.

The research collaboration activities will be administered from a dedicated liaison space within the Research and Innovation Park at IIT Delhi.
