IIT Guwahati will conduct GATE 2018

Guwahati: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will conduct Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018.  IIT Roorkee was the organizing institute for GATE 2017, which saw the registration of more than nine lakh candidates.

IIT  Guwahati has announced on its website that the institute is the organizing institute for GATE 2018. Last time the IIT Guwahati conducted GATE exam in 2010. The detailed examination pattern, schedule and other details will be notified soon (schedule time). Generally, GATE exam is held in January/February months in multiple days. Last year for GATE 2017, the online application window was opened via GATE Online Application Processing System on 01 September 2016.

GATE score card can be broadly divided three parts: Higher education at IITs, IISc, NITs, CFTIs; employment opportunities at leading PSUs for Graduate Engineers; and Financial Assistance/Fellowships supported by Ministry of HRD and other government agencies. The score is used for admissions to post-graduate programmes (eg. ME, MTech, direct PhD) in Indian Higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD.

To crack a seat in MTech programmes in any IITs, candidates need to scope higher GATE score. In the GATE 2017 exam, only 16% of total candidates appeared the text were declared qualified. GATE 2017 was conducted in 23 disciplines of engineering and science subjects.  Out of a total of 23 papers (subjects) in which GATE 2017 were conducted as an online test, Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC), Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science & Information Technology (CS) saw the highest number of registered candidates.

The aspirants have already commenced their preparation for GATE 2018 as it is one of toughest tests in India.
