Roorkee, 01 September 2017: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has recorded one of the highest pre-placement offers this year till date. The Institute is expected to have around 130 pre-placement offers till November, which will be a record high for the Institute. A total of 23 companies visited campus for pre-placements this year and the Institute has received 92 pre-placement offers so far, out of which 82 offers have already been accepted by the students. The highest package offered during pre-placements so far has been Rs. 28.16 Lakhs and the average CTC this is year has been Rs. 16.08 Lakhs.
Premier companies like Microsoft, Adobe Research Labs, Bidgely Technology Pvt. Ltd, Citicorp Services India Pvt. Ltd., Intuit, JSW Steel Ltd, Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd, Reliance Industries Limited, Samsung R&D Institute India, Samsung Research Institute, Schlumberger Asia Services Ltd, Shell New Technology Center NTCB, Tata Steel Ltd, Texas Instruments India Pvt. Ltd, Next Education India Pvt. Ltd, Nutanix Technologies, Oyo Rooms, Droom Edge Verve Systems Limited, 1 mg Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Thermo Fisher Scientific, Wipro Limited have visited IIT Roorkee campus this year.
The roles which were offered to students were predominantly from Core Engineering, IT and Analytical roles. Companies offered opportunities to students across departments ranging from Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Geological Technology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics.
Speaking about the pre-placement offers, Prof. N.P Padhy, Professor-in-Charge, Training and Placement, IIT Roorkee, said, “This season, the pre-placement offers have been very promising till now. Some of the top companies have come in for the pre-placements this year and we expect the trend to continue till November. We expect the number of offers to reach 130, which will be a record high for the Institute. We hope that this is a precursor to the great placement season which will kick start in December”.
