A Project guidance webinar for UG & PG students on “Emerging Domains of Cybersecurity and Cyber Threats was held on 16th July 2022 (Saturday) through online mode. This programme was honoured by the Hon’ble Chairman of AICTE, Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe and the Resource person was Mr. Dipanshu Parashar, the founder of Virtual Cyber Labs. The welcome address was given by Dr. Amit Dutta, Director, Student Development Cell, AICTE. More than 800 students joined the online webinar and were benefited in various ways with this programme.

Dr. Amit Dutta said that post pandemic there will be a significant percentage of people working remotely in most organizations hence the need of the knowledge on Cybersecurity & Threats. Further, he added that the API protects the data & important information of any organization and so we need to protect the API from the bad actors. An enormous data has been collected by the E-commerce companies, online payment companies etc. which need to be protected in all possible ways.

While addressing the gathering the Hon’ble Chairman, AICTE introduced the Resource person, Dipanshu Parashar as a Young Achiever equivalent to Child Prodigy. On the topic he added that as we all are attentive about the Health hygiene, in the same way Cyber hygiene is also a mandatory need of the day. He threw light on Ethical Hacking also a relatively new term in the field of Cyber security.

The eminent speaker of the event, Dipanshu Parashar, a well-known young Ethical Hacker and Cyber Security Expert. He was India’s Youngest Cyber Security Author and a Google Certified IT Specialist. He is a TEDx speaker and founder of Virtual Cyber Labs. On this webinar, Dipanshu started with a quote “Data is the oxygen for 21st century, it drives the internet and web”. Further, he talked about various ways & methods of hacking & how people’s data & information are becoming very vulnerable. To counter this, he talked about web applications security, Malware analysis, Cyber forensics, IoT pen testing and exploit development, Blockchain & Decentralised gateways, Vulnerability assessment, API- Pen testing & RFID and Hardware testing etc. He also touched upon Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, future domains targeting cybersecurity and how a Boarding Pass can easily reveal all relevant personal & other information etc. The webinar was indeed a very successful and meaningful for all the participants. Most importantly, this webinar helped generate interest & awareness in Cybersecurity & Threats.
