Ahmedabad : Mr Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, and Mr Ajay Piramal, President of Anant National University, visited the university campus. Mr Mittal interacted with students and innovators/start-ups incubated at the Aarambh Incubation Centre. He, along with Mr Piramal, also visited the upcoming academic blocks, which are part of Anant’s infrastructural expansion aimed at providing world-class education to its students. Dr Pramath Raj Sinha, Founding Provost of Anant National University, was also present at the occasion.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of several student innovators and start-ups (of Aarambh Incubation Centre), four of which have already registered their ventures. These cutting-edge innovations addressed various pressing issues, including climate change, workplace sexual harassment and health, wellness, and safety.
Talking to the students, Mr Mittal shared, “This visit has been truly remarkable. I am delighted to witness the level of innovation happening at Anant. Today’s students are not only innovating but also building businesses at an age when many of us were still figuring out our path. I want to tell the students that India is brimming with opportunities, and you are set to be a part of this revolution. So, pursue your passion, think big, and do big.”
Mr Mittal encouraged students to develop sustainable and affordable solutions, keeping rural India and its aspirations in mind. He also emphasised the importance of industry-academia partnerships in today’s world, where technology disruption occurs every five years. He said that such partnerships will ensure that academic institutions are able to offer education that makes students industry-ready.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anunaya Chaubey, Provost, Anant National University, said, “I would like to thank Mr Mittal for all the support he has extended to Anant. His active involvement in our initiatives and projects speaks volumes about his commitment to our mission. His belief in our vision encourages us to strive for excellence and pushes us to innovate further. He has been an inspiration to all of us.”
