Gurugram: Reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and value-based education, KIIT World School organized a special plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The initiative encouraged students to embrace environmental responsibility while paying tribute to the nurturing spirit of motherhood.

The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and the school leadership, who collectively planted 50 saplings across the campus. The activity served as a meaningful step towards creating a greener environment while instilling a sense of responsibility among young learners.

The event was graced by Mr. Yoginder Singh Raghav, a respected local farmer and a retired DHBVN officer with over four decades of service. Addressing the students, he emphasized that planting a tree is only the beginning, and its true value lies in caring for it with the same love and dedication that a mother gives to her child. His inspiring words encouraged students to become lifelong custodians of nature.

The plantation drive was led by Principal Dr. Neelima Kamrah, Headmistress Ms. Rashmi Srivastava, and Administrative Officer Ms. Ananya Parashar, who joined the students in planting saplings and reaffirming the school’s commitment to sustainable practices.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neelima Kamrah, Principal, KIIT World School, said, “Planting a tree is not just an act of environmental conservation; it is an investment in a healthier and more sustainable future. The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign beautifully reminds us of the unconditional care of a mother and our shared responsibility towards nature. I am proud to see our students participate with such enthusiasm and commitment, and I hope they continue to nurture these saplings as they grow into strong trees.”

Students also pledged to care for the saplings, making the initiative more than a one-day activity. Through such experiential learning opportunities, the school continues to encourage environmental awareness, empathy, and responsible citizenship among its learners.

The event concluded with the shared hope that the saplings planted today will flourish into thriving trees, contributing to a greener and healthier future for generations to come.
