Gurugram: KIIT World School, Sohna Road, proudly celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor and remember the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our nation during the Kargil War. The school organized a special event where students and teachers actively participated in planting the saplings. It was a way to show respect and gratitude towards the soldiers and contribute towards a greener environment. The event aimed to create awareness about the sacrifices made by soldiers and encourage everyone to take steps towards preserving nature.

During the event students, teachers, and staff collectively paid their respects to the martyrs. A documentary showcasing the heroic acts of the soldiers was screened. Students actively participated in various competitions, such as painting and essay-writing, where they depicted their understanding of the war and spirit of patriotism. The event culminated with a solemn ceremony, where students lit candles in memory of the martyrs, followed by a two-minute silence to pay homage to the fallen heroes.

KIIT World School Principal Dr. Neelima Kamrah expressed her gratitude to all the participants for actively engaging and honoring the spirit of Kargil Vijay Diwas. She said, “It is crucial for our students to recognize the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers. Kargil Vijay Diwas is not just a day of remembrance, it is a reminder of the spirit of our armed forces and the unbreakable unity of our nation.”
