Neemrana : Established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society, the not-for-profit NIIT University (NU) hosted the 12th Annual Lecture delivered by Dr Naresh Trehan, Padma Bhushan awardee, Founder & Chairman of Medanta Medicity. Dr Trehan spoke on ‘Building Your Future in COVID Times’ at the annual event held online on 23rd November 2020.

On this significant occasion, Dr Trehan talked about how the global health crisis has led to a paradigm shift in the way we live, work, and learn. He also spoke about the role that technology is playing currently in building students’ future and how institutions like NU are grooming the ‘future leaders’ who would script success stories in a world that is becoming increasingly digital.

Dr Trehan highlighted how the new normal is here to stay, and being safe is of utmost importance today. Building immunity, wearing masks and social distancing are the 3 golden rules that everyone should follow. He also added that for India to emerge as a superpower, it is very important for us to build world-class educational institutions and guide Indian students towards holistic development. Dr Trehan complemented NU as a model institution which met with the necessary criteria.

The Annual Lecture streamed live on NIIT University’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter handles.

Mr Rajendra S Pawar, Founder, NIIT University said, “For Future-proofing your career in today’s time, it is imperative for every individual to have a foundation which is digital. The world is changing faster than it was before this pandemic hit us. Therefore, no matter what your job is, you need to be not just well versed in new age technology platforms, digital methods, and tools, but also ways in which to stay safe. At the NU campus, we have taken every possible precaution to ensure that the campus is completely sanitised for all those who stay and work there.”

Prof Parimal V Mandke, President, NIIT University said, “It has been our continuous endeavour at NU to set global standards in higher education and encourage innovation and the use of technology to discover one’s true potential. Over the last 11 years we have successfully created a new model of holistic learning that enables our students to be future-ready no matter what the challenges.

Maj Gen A K Singh (Retd), COO and Dean Student Affairs, NIIT University said, “NU Campus is safer than home and stands today completely infection free for more than 250 days. We are fully prepared to welcome students back with tested protocols for safety and security, at the same time providing complete comfort, a unique learning experience and adequate opportunities for physical fitness and social interaction all within COVID-19 norms”.
