Guwahati :  Assam down town University organised TIDE 2.0 IDEATHON with the objective to promote tech startups of Assam and the northeastern region. The event was organised in association with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, Assam Startup – The Nest and sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt of India.

The event was inaugurated by Prabir Kumar Das, Scientist and Jurisdictional Director at Software Technology Park of India, Ochintya Sharma, VP, Global Engineering and MD of Hubble Connected  and Dr. Bijaylakshmi Goswami, Co founder of Agrithink Services.

A total of 28 groups from across north east participated in the event, from which 14 groups were shortlisted for the final pitch presentation of Tide 2.0 IDEATHON. On March 24, 14 groups presented their final pitch before the panel of jury comprising of CA Pankaj Periwal, Chairman of Northern India Regional Council of ICAI (2018-19) ) and Aritra Bhowmik, Head – Programs and Investment North-East Sangam Ventures Incubation, AIC Sangam.

From the 14 startups that were shortlisted for the final pitch round, three were adjudged as winner and runners up.

  • Curobotic, led by Manzoor Raziq Ahmed, bagged the first prize in the event. Curobotic is a novel automatic support system for early detection of Colorectal cancer. It is an AI system which is developed to detect and localize colon cancer.
  • Riyum, led by Ricky Yumlembam, was adjudged the first runner up. The product is a compact and portable all in one multi-colour portable industrial screen printing machine. It can print any image in highly detailed HD quality

 

  • The second runner up – Unisenze – led by Sumit Baruah – makes wearable location tracking system for personal and industrial use leveraging an IoT system which comprises ECG monitoring, body temperature, ambient temperature, humidity, heartbeat, blood oxygen level and location monitoring

Prize money of Rs 15000, Rs 12000 and Rs 10000 were awarded to the winner and runners up respectively.
