Mumbai : Orchids The International School, renowned for its pioneering approach to education, partnered with India’s leading publishing brand Amar Chitra Katha – Tinkle Comics to ignite creativity and imagination in its students. Orchids Malad West campus hosted this engaging 2-day ‘Tinkle Comics Art Workshop’ which was led by Gayathri Chandrasekaran, Editor-in-Chief and Savio Mascarenhas-Group Art Director of Tinkle Comics from the Amar Chitra Katha publishing house. The workshop covered: Ideation, scriptwriting, paneling, character sketches, page composition, inking, shading, and coloring.
Dr. Japasree Mukherjee, Principal of Orchids The International School, Malad West campus, expressed her thoughts on the workshop, said, “This partnership with Tinkle Comics aligns perfectly with the Orchids’ approach towards holistic education. Drawing for comics requires a good sense of page and panel composition which was explained very well to the students. All the participants then worked on sketching their characters, including story, dialogues and art. The Tinkle artists helped the students to create characters according to their personalities and designing the backgrounds. Overall it was a fun, interactive workshop which introduced comics to children. We are happy with the response and the enthusiasm shown by our students. The students greatly benefitted from this hands-on experience, mastering the art of crafting compelling narratives, breathing life into characters, and illustrating their imagination.”
Gayathri Chandrasekaran, Editor-in-Chief of Tinkle Comics, shared her thoughts, “At Tinkle, we believe in nurturing young talent and encouraging creativity. This workshop provided the Orchids The International School students with a comprehensive understanding of comic creation. The Tinkle Comics Art Workshop was meticulously crafted by the Amar Chitra Katha – Tinkle Comics experts.
