Kerala: Online Applications are invited from eligible candidate by Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme starting in August 2018.
The following areas in which these programme will be offered are:
1.Computer Science and Engineering: Data Mining, Big Data analytics, Social network analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cloud Computing, IoT, HPC, Green Computing, Information Retrieval, Graph Algorithms, Parallel Computing, Financial Enginnering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering: Image Processing, Signal Processing, Communication, Embedded Systems
- Mathematics: Differential Equations, Graph Theory, Statistical Algorithms, Fluid Dynamics, Analysis.
Categories of PhD Students:
i) SCHOLARSHIP HOLDERS (FULL-TIME)
A candidate who is having INSPIRES/ CSIR/UGC/NBHM can apply for full-time Ph.D programme. Such candidates receive assistantship or fellowship from concerned funding agencies.
ii) SPONSORED (FULL-TIME)
A candidate in this category is sponsored by a recognized R&D organization, academic institution, government organization or industry or QIP candidates for doing research in the Institute on a full-time basis. The candidate must be a regular employee of the sponsoring organization with at least one year of professional experience in the respective field. The Institute does not provide any assistantship/fellowship to such a student. Sponsorship letter must be attached with the application.
iii) SELF-FINANCED (FULL-TIME)
A candidate in this category works full-time towards the PhD Programme. The Institute will not provide any assistantship/fellowship to such a student.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission into PhD Programme:
Minimum CGPA or Percentage of marks in the qualifying degree, with specific requirements has been indicated below:
For admission to the PhD Programme, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1.Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Computer Applications/Electronics/IT or equivalent area with a minimum Cumulative Grade point average (CGPA) of either 6.0 in a 10 point scale or 60% of marks.
2.Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Mathematics or equivalent in a relevant area from any national institute of importance with a minimum CGPA of either 7.0 in a 10 point scale or 70% of marks. Such students will be awarded both MS and PhD degrees on completion of PhD programme without any exit option during the programme.
3.A student of IIIT Kottayam who is continuing his/her B.Tech-MS studies and having a minimum CGPA of 7.0 at the end of sixth semester may be enrolled in the PhD programme of the institute in the beginning of his/her seventh semester of study. Such students can receive B.Tech-MS and Ph.D Degrees. The degrees will be awarded after completion of PhD degree.

Application Fee: An application fee of Rs.100 for general/OBC and Rs 50 for SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates will have to be paid through State Bank collect.
Selection Criteria: Selection of the candidate will be based on test/interview. Appearing for test/interview does not entitle for admission of the Ph.D. programme.
