Noida : Ramagya School, Sector 50, Noida hosted the District Chess Tournament organised by the District Sports Department, Gautam Buddha Nagar in collaboration with the District Chess Sports Association, GB Nagar. The grand tournament brought together young chess players from across the district and witnessed participation in Under-7, Under-9, Under-11 and Under-15 categories.

The event commenced in the morning with the players reporting, followed by the players’ meeting and inauguration ceremony. Matches were conducted through the day under the Swiss System and in accordance with the latest FIDE Laws of Chess. Participants competed in rapid format games with a time control of 15 minutes plus a 10-second increment from move one.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students and the young chess enthusiasts altogether with the players competing across multiple rounds during the day. The tournament gave players a chance to compete against participants from different categories and apply their game strategies during matches.

Ramagya School made arrangements for the matches and other tournament-related activities at its Sector 50 campus. Coaches, parents and organisers remained present throughout the competition and encouraged the participants during the matches.

Mr. Utkarsh Gupta, Managing Director, Ramagya Group congratulated the winners for their enthusiastic participation and competitive spirit during the tournament. Addressing the gathering he said, “Chess encourages discipline, patience and analytical thinking among students. Hosting a district-level tournament of this nature gives young players an important platform to compete, learn and gain exposure through structured competition.”

The District Chess Tournament concluded with active participation and competitive spirit from players across age groups. The event added to the growing sporting and extracurricular engagement among students in the district.
