Goa: Ms. Preeti Jagadev, a Research Scholar from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa , has been featured among 25 renowned women scientists in optics around the world for 2021, by the international society for optics and photonics (SPIE), USA.

She is the only Indian to be featured in the list this year, lauded by scientists and research community.

Ms. Preeti Jagadev is an PhD Scholar under guidance of Dr Lalat Indu Giri of Department of Electronic and Communications (ECE). Her research areas include Infrared Thermography, Biomedical Instrumentation and image processing.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Minister for Education, lauded her achievement and said “Extremely happy to know that Ms. Preeti Jagadev, a #research scholar from  has been enlisted as one of the renowned women scientists in optics around the world 2021 by SPIE., U.S.A. Congratulation to you, I wish you all the best for your future ! “

Commenting her achievement, Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa said “Glad to learn that Preeti Jagadev, a research scholar from NIT Goa is the only Indian enlisted as one of the top 25 renowned women scientists in the field of optics around the world. Many congratulations to her for making Goa proud on an international platform.”
