Mumbai : Students of Billabong High International Schools (BHIS) Malad and Santacruz campus celebrate National Doctor’s Day today. Students from class Senior Kindergarten to class 4 participated in various activities. While BHIS Santacruz campus students spoke about the doctors in their virtual assemblies and the sacrifice they have made in this pandemic to save several lives, at BHIS Malad – tinny toddlers had a virtual visit to a paediatric doctor’s clinic and got a chance to interact with the doctor.

Showing gratitude to doctors for their selfless service, 208 students of BHIS observed National Doctor’s Day today. Their virtual school started with an assembly where each child participated in it and spoke few lines about doctors and the importance of this day. The students of the Santacruz campus also prepared PowerPoint presentations on Doctor’s work, the importance of National Doctor’s Day and discussed their role in this pandemic. On the other hand, children from senior kindergarten Malad campus had fun chatting live with a paediatric doctor virtually who showed them doctor’s medical equipment’s and discussed various things about the profession.

Nikhat Azam, Principal, BHIS, Santacruz said, “Historically, doctors have played a critical role in saving lives. Their selfless contribution has been undisputed during the pandemic. Healthcare workers have risked their lives and the lives of their families, while faithfully performing their duties. We salute the selfless sacrifice of the doctor fraternity. As educators, it is our responsibility to sensitize our children to the role of doctors and to instill in them a sense of gratitude and respect towards them. Through these initiatives, our students not only discussed doctor’s efforts and importance but also thanked them for the incredible work done during the pandemic. Students prepared a quiz competition for their classmates to gain more knowledge about this day and the profession.”
