Gurgaon : Sunstone, an innovative network of higher education institutions, held one of the most popular cause-based marathons – “Educathon 2025” – at Urban Akhara, Gurugram on 7th September and brought together hundreds of runners, corporate organizations and community members around a common cause – education for the unprivileged.
What began as a small step in 2022 with just 110 runners has now transformed into a movement of fitness, purpose, and community. Educathon 4.0, witnessed an overwhelming participation of 400+ runners, with the 10KM category alone drawing more than 110 participants – the same number that once represented the entire event.
The 2025 edition was not just about endurance; it was about empathy. This was a cause-based run, with proceeds donated to You In You, an NGO dedicated to enabling access to education for underprivileged children. Pankaj Bansal, Founder Trustee of You In You, remarked, “When a community comes together to run for a cause bigger than themselves, every stride turns into hope. Educathon is about empowering dreams through education.”
The event came alive with vibrant energy at Urban Akhara, Gurgaon, where participants aged 6 to 60 years gathered before dawn. The morning erupted with warm-up Zumba sessions, spirited flag-offs, cheering squads, and a high-energy award ceremony. It was more than a marathon; it was a celebration of fitness, unity, and collective responsibility.
Race Director Abhay Bhanot brought his experience and precision to ensure seamless execution across categories, giving runners not just a race but an unforgettable experience.
The success of Educathon 4.0 was amplified by the unwavering support of its partners: Alan’s Chips (Snacking Partner), Independence Water (Hydration Partner), Spinner (Beverage Partner), Nirvana Health, and Dr. Kinju Mishra (Recovery Partners)—each contributing to making the run healthier, safer, and more rewarding.
In a joint message, Sunstone’s Co-founders – Ashish Munjal, Piyush Nangru, and Ankur Jain reflected on the journey:
“Educathon began as an effort to inspire fitness among communities. Over time, it has grown into something far greater – a platform that not only promotes health but also creates access to education for those who need it the most. Seeing this event grow year after year is a reminder that collective action can truly shape a brighter tomorrow.”
As the sun rose over Gurgaon, Educathon 4.0 stood as proof of how a simple initiative could evolve into a purpose-driven movement. From 110 runners in its first edition to over 400 changemakers today, Sunstone’s Educathon continues to inspire, reminding everyone that fitness and education together can build lasting change.
