Hyderabad …Telangana’s first private university, Anurag University’s 1st Convocation Ceremony was held at its University Campus in Venkatapur in Gatkesar on Saturday.

Sanjay Churiwala, Corporate Vice President of AMD India and Atul Abhyankar, Business Group Lead of Accenture were Chief Guests at the convocation ceremony

1600 plus of B. Tech, M. Tech, BBA, MBA, MCA, B.Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, Pharma D  graduated.

Prof UB Desai administered an oath to the graduating students.

Guda Nikitha, Janga Monika, Devina Nair, Pagidoju Shivani, and Bandaru Bhavana were the top five students of the CSE who received first the convocation certificate through the hands of Chief Guests Sanjay Chriwala and Atul Abhyankar.

Palla Raghava Reddy Gold Medals were awarded to the University toppers Mullapati  Saketh Reddy of Chemical Engineering for B.Tech and N.Akanksha for B.pharmacy with a cash award of Rs.20000 each.

Toppers from every department were also honoured with cash awards on this occasion.

Atul Abhyankar, Business Group Lead of Accenture, Pune gave a message as an Acronym ‘LIFT’.  I have four messages to give to you, he told them.  He spoke about Campus to corporate transition, journey and how things change for freshers as they enter workplaces. You will experience excitement, anxiety, unknown things and challenges.  You will also learn a few new things as well as eye-opening lessons.  Bear these four things in mind.  He explained the acronym LIFT. L in LIFT stands for Leadership.  Learn leadership lessons. He cited an example of how Dhoni exhibits leadership skills. I stands for Innovation.  Be innovative in all your efforts. He gave an example of Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav who took the world by surprise with his out-of-box shots. He shot in  to fame for his shots and the innovative techniques he applied to batting.  F stands for flexibility.  Be flexible in your goals, and plans.  T stands for Technology and Talent. Keep pace with Technology, and upskill constantly, he told the outgoing graduates.

Sanjay Churiwala, Corporate Vice President of AMD told students to focus on two things. One is skills and the second one is to be a creator of something new.  Use skills to make a difference.  Develop an attitude of continuous learning.

Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Chairman of Anurag University said Engineering is a field that is defined as innovation and problem-solving, Pharmacy is life-saving and management for business management.  The world needs innovators and problem solvers.  You are a pioneering batch. Celebrate the achievement of first-ever graduates of Anurag University.

The Anurag group started small 25 years ago and turned University in 2020. Initially, we had 3 schools —Engineering, Management and Pharmacy.  During the course, we added other schools such as Nursing, Agriculture, Para Medical, and Medicine.  Soon we will be starting two more schools—Liberal Arts and Law, Dr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy announced.

Prof UM Desai, Chancellor of the Anurag University and founding director of Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad told students to develop courage to think of the box ideas.  Hope the college has allowed you to develop that skill.  Be ethical in whatever you do. Have strong ethical values. Climate Change is the biggest challenge the world is facing. It is a man-made disaster. Contribute your might to solve this problem, he told the students

Dr Arachana Mantri, Vice Chancellor of Anurag University giving opening remarks said that the  University was making fast strides, climbing up in various ranks, setting up new standards and benchmarks.  She listed out a few milestone achievements.

Graduation Certificates were presented to the students 2020-2022, 2021-23 and Under Graduate 2020-2024 years. Students wearing white Kurta Pyjama, Salwar Kameez and saree with an eco-friendly kalamkari Angavastram, a dying art form. Students’ parents also graced the occasion. Several boys were spotted in traditional dhoti.

Farhana, a B. Pharmacy student, who was just wedded seen present among the students to receive her convocation certificate.

The ceremony was a day-long affair.  The convocation certificates were presented in batches. Computer Students were large in numbers compared to any other streams and they were presented with certificates first.

The other dignitaries who graced the occasion include  Mrs.S.Neelima-CEO, Dr.Balaji Utla- Registrar, Prof.M.Mutha Reddy-Dean of Examinations, Deans , Directors and Heads of the Departments
