New Delhi : Three scientists Prof. GPS Raghava, Prof. Ranjan Bose and Dr. Angshul Majumdar has been featured in the list of top 2% scientist databases. The subject-wise analysis has been conducted by a team of scientists at Stanford University. Stanford University scientists have created this database of over 100,000 top scientists of the world on the basis of standardized citation indicators such as information on citations, H-index, co-authorship, and a composite indicator. All of these scientists were classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. For analysis of the citations and the composite indicators, SCOPUS data provided by Elsevier was used with data freeze as on May 6, 2020. The study can be found here

Prof. GPS Raghava is ranked 192 in the field of Bioinformatics with a cited score of 3.64954989 and 248 papers published between 1988 and 2020. Prof. Raghava is an Indian bioinformatician and head of the Department of Computational Biology at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology. Raghava received the Young Leader Award in Science & Technology, Lakshmipat Singhania – Indian Institute of Management Lucknow National Leadership awards 2011. He was listed as one of eight highly cited Indians scientists by Thomson Reuters in 2014. He was awarded NASI-Reliance Industries Platinum Jubilee Awards, 2009 in Biological Sciences Thomson Reuters presented him with Research Excellence ~ India Research Front Awards 2009. He received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2008.

Prof. Ranjan Bose is ranked 3230 in the field of Networking & Telecommunications with the cite score of 2.98241346 and 115 publication between 1995 and 2020.  Prof. Bose is the Director of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi). Before joining IIIT-Delhi he was a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, where he was the Microsoft Chair Professor.  He is known for his work in the area of secure communications and the Virtual Labs project. He is a recipient of Vikram Sarabhai Research Award. He is also the national coordinator for the Mission Project on Virtual Labs, which enables students all over India to perform simulation-based lab experiments remotely. He has held guest scientist positions at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, University of Colorado, Boulder, USA, UNIK, Norway and University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA. He is the author of the book Information Theory, Coding and Cryptography (3rd Ed.).

Dr. Angshul Majumdar has been ranked 2088 worldwide in the field of Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing with a score of 3.38853075, with 212 papers published between 2007 and 2020. Angshul Majumdar has co-authored more than 90 journal articles and 100 conference proceedings. He has authored two books – Compressed Sensing for Magnetic Resonance Image Reconstruction, published by Cambridge University Press (2015), and Compressed Sensing for Engineers, published by CRC Press (2019). He has co-edited two books – Deep Learning in Biometrics and MRI: Physics, Reconstruction and Analysis, both published by CRC Press. He has two granted US patents and six more filed. He has been the finance chair of the IEEE ISBA (2017). He has been the Chair of the SPS Chapter’s Committee (Membership board) from 2016-18 and served as the chair of the SPS Educational Committee (2019). Currently, he is a member-at-large in the SPS Educational Board. He is the associate editor for IEEE TCSVT and IEEE OJSP and area editor for IEEE ICASSP and IEEE ICIP.
