London: The UK-based University of Southampton’s Business School has launched a summer programme that will engage participating students in debates and lectures on a series of handpicked globally-trending business topics. The Business School Summer Programme, to be held from 16thJuly to 27th July 2018, at the University of Southampton campus, is an excellent opportunity for Indian students aspiring to excel in the field of business and management to go to the UK for a short duration to learn from some of the best international academics in an interactive and cognitive environment.
With the modern businesses facing a wave of fresh challenges, the two-week summer programme aims to provide international students with a taste of studying business in a British academic environment. Southampton Business School provides future business leaders with a comprehensive focus on successfully executing businesses in the present-day world. The Programme will provide students with not only a rich cultural experience, but a thought-provoking and interactive learning practice by a leading, research intensive UK University. Incorporated into the programme are keynote lectures that will address relevant business topics with opportunities for students to ask questions to leading international academic staff who are at the forefront of their discipline.
The curriculum at Southampton Business School Summer Programme will revolve around three major modules. ‘Understanding Business in a New World’ will encompass the importance of the ‘big ideas’ that have most strongly impacted the development of human societies, while establishing business management as an intellectually stimulating and liberal subject. ‘Financial Management for Businesses in a Globally Competitive Market’ will look at fundamental financial management, management accounting and financial reporting areas that underpin modern business. Students will be exposed to current practices that ensure businesses efficiently operate, aim to maximize profits and report them accurately. The third module ‘Innovation and Contemporary Business Challenges’ will explore the challenges in the world of business, the impact of innovation, disruptive technologies and implications & opportunities of working in a digitally connected environment.
A certificate course, the Business School Summer Programme will enable participating students to learn in compact group of not more than 20 students. The University will arrange the students’ stay at the campus, along with his/her meals, WiFi connectivity and supporting material for each topic. Moreover, the Programme will feature exciting trips and excursions to various parts of UK providing grand cultural exposure.

- Participants will need to have the ability to speak and understand English to the equivalent of IELTS 5.5 (no formal certificate required)
Fee: £2100 (£500 deposit + final payment of £1600)

- Students can opt to attend a further two weeks of the International Summer School, making it four weeks (Additional fee applicable).
- Airport pick-up & drop-off to Heathrow London will be arranged by the University on 14th July and 28th July.
