Kolkata: University of Calcutta (CU) has got the fifth rank among all the general universities of the country (including both government and private), as per India Today (August 10, 2020) survey.

Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Hyderabad, Aligarh Muslim University and Osmania University and ahead of all other government and private universities of India.

In a press statement Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee Vice-Chancellor of University of Calcutta informed in terms of number of patents published, CU is the topper in the whole country.
