The University of Hull, a teaching and research-based UK University that offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level programs has announced 25 scholarships worth up to 50% of the tuition fees to Chemistry undergraduates. The scholarships are issued through the Women in STEM Programme and George W Gray (Chemistry) Scholarships.

All undergraduate students from India are offered a World Bank scholarship of almost £9,000 from their tuition fees, for each year of their 3 year degree.

To be eligible, prospective applicants must be an international student holding an offer of study on an Undergraduate Chemistry degree programme at the University of Hull. The applicant must have achieved or working towards the equivalent of 112 UCAS points, along with a 6.5 Band in IELTS, with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or equivalent. The candidates must also have achieved or working towards High School Chemistry equivalent to UK A-level grade B.

To be considered for a scholarship, the applicants are required to pass a Chemistry aptitude test set by the University. The pass mark will be 60% but may be adjusted as needed if the number of applications received results in the need to do so.

Talking about the Scholarship programme offered by XX, University of Hull, says ”Our primary reason behind curating this opportunity was to mitigate the cost of pursuing a degree, to prevent students from worrying about money. Students should focus on their principal job, that is, studying and pursuing the degree. After receiving a great quantity of applications for our last scholarship programme, the need out there was reinforced.”

Restrictions preventing students from applying for the scholarship include – the Scholarship is payable as a credit against tuition fees only, and does not cover living expenses; the Scholarship does not apply during a placement year; Scholarships may only be awarded to applicants satisfying general university, departmental, and programme of study regulations; the answers to chemistry aptitude test must be the applicants own unassisted work; All applicants must demonstrate that they have the necessary living expenses as required under the UKVI regulations prior to the University issuing a Student Visa certificate of sponsorship; No scholar may hold more than one University award.
