INDIA : VIBGYOR Group of Schools, one of India’s premier K-12 education networks, successfully hosted the visiting MTV Lübeck Handball German Team as part of their India Tour 2026. Conducted across multiple Mumbai campuses, the initiative offered students a unique opportunity to experience international-level handball training, gameplay strategies, and professional athletic environments.

The multi-day engagement featured a structured mix of practice sessions and meet-and-greet opportunities, allowing students to interact directly with the visiting athletes. The tour commenced with an intensive practice session at VIBGYOR High, Kharghar, where students participated in drills focused on coordination, speed, and tactical execution. This was followed by interactive sessions at VIBGYOR High, Malad East and VIBGYOR High, Goregaon, where school teams had the opportunity to engage closely with the players and gain insights into the sport and the discipline required at a competitive level.

In addition to engaging with students and faculty, the visiting delegation also met Rustom Kerawalla, Chairman, VIBGYOR Group of Schools and Kavita Kerawalla, Vice Chairperson, VIBGYOR Group of Schools, resulting in meaningful interactions. The discussions focused on the growing culture of sports, its significance for holistic student development, and the role of international exposure in nurturing young athletes.

Through these sessions, students were introduced to international training methodologies, real-time gameplay scenarios, and the importance of teamwork and adaptability in high-performance sport. The presence of the MTV Lübeck team created an immersive learning environment that extended beyond conventional school-level training, reinforcing the role of sport in shaping learners’ confidence, resilience, and global outlook.

Speaking on the initiative, Kavita Kerawalla, Vice Chairperson, VIBGYOR Group of Schools said, “Exposure of this nature adds a different dimension to how students experience sport. Watching international athletes up close, understanding their training approach, and engaging with them directly make the learning far more tangible. It helps students connect effort with outcome, and builds a deeper respect for the discipline that high-performance sport demands.”

The event was successfully conducted across both the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai campuses, underscoring the scale, reach, and effective execution of the initiative. While VIBGYOR Group of Schools has consistently organized sports-centric student exchange programs to enrich learners’ experiences, this initiative marked a significant milestone as it hosted an international student exchange program focused on sports. The program not only promoted sporting excellence but also brought global exposure directly to the campuses, creating a truly immersive international experience for the VIBGYOR community.

Beyond benefiting students, the experience also extended to VIBGYOR’s sports coaches. Interaction with international athletes and coaching staff provided VIBGYOR Sports Coaches with a valuable platform to learn, exchange insights, and gain exposure to global best practices in sports training and conditioning. This knowledge exchange is expected to further enhance coaching methodologies and strengthen the overall sporting ecosystem within the institution.

The initiative was further amplified through on-the-ground event coverage and digital engagement, capturing key moments from sessions, student interactions, and training highlights, extending its impact beyond the campuses.

With this engagement, VIBGYOR Group of Schools continues to strengthen its focus on holistic education by combining academics with meaningful co-curricular opportunities. By bringing international athletes into the school ecosystem, the institution is enabling students to experience sport as a structured pathway for growth, learning, and global exposure.
