In 1981, I joined University in Delhi, I wasn’t destined to come to XLRI but it happened and I am so glad for it. My experience has been very different than other XLers. What I learnt here has made me what I have I am today since the last 35 years in civil years. Thank you everyone for my 2 year journey at XLRI. I congratulate each and every student for what they have shown throughout today. It feels great to be back on the same stage once again.”

Mr. Pushp Kumar Joshi, Chairman & MD at HPCL and an alumnus of PMIR – 1986 received the Lifetime Achievement Award. “I am grateful for this privilege. I feel that this recognition is the privilege of that great XL spirit and I am just the medium through which the spirit is recognised and this spirit is so unique and special that makes our institute the best institute in the world. Whatever my professional journey has been of 36 long years is all because of the 2 years that I had spent at XLRI Jamshedpur. There is something very special in XL and that is the XL spirit and XLRI teaches you to be yourself and try something on your own. My biggest lesson is that there is a wise way and otherwise way of doing things. And that otherwise way of doing things is also a wise way of doing things. There cannot be a better mentor than Fr. McGrath at XLRI during my stay here”, he said.
