Mumbai, 02 February 2023: Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), under Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), has announced Recruitment of Scientific Officer (Group A) posts through OCES & DGFS schemes 2023. The recruitment notification has been released on the Employment Newspaper Dt. 28 Jan-03 Feb 2023.
The notice had mentioned the launching of online application portal for OCES & DGFS 2023 was 01 February 2023 (https://www.barcocesexam.in/) . However, the portal has not been active till now.
BARC in a public notice informed that BARC Online Examination application process for OCES/DGFS 2023 will start on 4th February 2023.
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the BARC Online Examination application process for OCES/DGFS 2023 will start on 4th February 2023. Inconvenience caused due to the postponement is deeply regretted,” BARC said on the official website of the OCES & DGFS schemes 2023.
BARC invites applications from engineering Graduates and Science Post Graduates to apply for Scientific Officer (Group A) posts through OCES & DGFS schemes 2023.
The recruitment of Scientific Officer is generally done through One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) for the year 2023-24 and Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates (DGFS) for the year 2023-24.
Selection Procedure: Selection to OCES/DGFS-2023 is a two-step process: Screening to short-list candidates followed by Selection Interviews of the short-listed candidates.
Screening for Selection Interview is through two alternative channels:
(a) Online Screening Examination: It will be conducted in nine Engineering disciplines (as mentioned notification) and in four Science disciplines (mentioned at notification) at more than forty cities spread across India. The Online Screening Test for OCES/ DGFS-2023 will be held on 01-02 April 2023.
(b) GATE Score : Candidates will be screened in for Selection Interview on the basis of a valid GATE-2022 or GATE-2023 Score.
OCES-2023 : One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates & Science Postgraduates starting for 2023-24 academic year will be conducted at BARC Training Schools situated at: BARC, Mumbai; IGCAR, Kalpakkam; NFC, Hyderabad; RRCAT, Indore; AMD, Hyderabad.
DGFS-2023 : Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates for joining M.Tech. / M.Chem.Engg. in select specializations starting for AY 2023-24 at : Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)–Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee and BHU-Varanasi; National Institute of Technology (NIT) – Rourkela; Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) – Mumbai.
On successful completion of the OCES or DGFS programs, Trainee Scientific Officers (TSOs)and DGFS Fellows will be appointed as Scientific Officers in one of the DAE units or Atomic Energy Regulatory Board with attractive career progression opportunities up to the highest echelons.
