GATE 2020: The desirous and eligible candidates having essential qualification should have appeared Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
The GATE 2020 score in the subject maintained against the posts ONGC will be considered by ONGC for shortlisting the candidates for further selection process of Personal Interview.
Final Selection of the candidates will be on the basis of three parameters:
- Educational Qualification
- Performance in the GATE 2020
- Performance in the Interview.
Weightage:
Weightage of GATE -2020 Score – 60 Marks
Qualification – 25 ( 20 marks for essential qualification and 05 marks for in-line PhD)
Interview -15
Total- 100 Marks
In order to be empanelled, candidates are required to qualify in the GATE-2020 and therefore again in the personal interview separately, an addition to fulfilling qualification criteria.
To qualify in the interview, General, EWS and OBC candidates are required to score minimum 60% marks i.e. 09 marks out of 15 & SC/ST/PwD candidates are required to score a minimum of 40% marks i.e. 06 marks out of 15 marks in Interview.
Finalization of Merit List:
Candidates who qualify in the interview shall be empanelled in the Merit List.
Offer of the Appointment shall be issued to the candidate based on relative rank in the Merit List prepared on the weighted sum of total marks scored by the candidate in GATE 2020, Qualification and Interview.
In case of a tie in the total marks scored by the candidates, candidates who gets more marks in performance (Weightage of GATE score) is considered senior and if equal marks are scored in performance, the older in age is considered senior for release of name.
Departmental candidates will be given first consideration in matters of selection.
Only GATE score is valid for this recruitment process. Score from GATE 2019 or GATE 2021 or from any previous GATE Examination is not valid.
