New Delhi:  Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), under Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has released Faculty Recruitment notification. The total number if vacant posts are 14.

About IIMC:  Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), established in 1965 by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, is a premier Institute of mass communication education, research and training. It has its main campus in New Delhi and Regional Campuses in Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir) and Kottayam (Kerala).

Total Vacant Posts:  Professor – 6 posts; Associate Professors – 6 posts; Assistant Professor – 2 posts.

Area of Specialization: IIMC invites applications for faculty positions in Mass Communication at various levels with broad specialization in Journalism Studies, Broadcast Journalism, Oral & Visual Communication, Political Communication, New Media, ICT, Data Journalism, Integrated Marketing Communication, Media Laws & Regulations, Health Communication, Science Communication, Communication Research, Training Pedagogy, Publications/ Graphics/ Design etc.

Scale of pay:

  1. Professor : Level 14 of the Pay Matrix Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200.
  2. Associate Professor : Level 13A of the Pay Matrix Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100.

iii. Assistant Professor : Level 10 of the Pay Matrix Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400.

Assistant Professor :

Eligibility : (A or B)

A.

  1. i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University.
  2. ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET

OR

who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET :

Provided : the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2019, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the

Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions :

  1. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode ;
  2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
  3. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
  4. The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a referred journal;
  5. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conference/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency.
