Surat: Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SV NIT), Surat, popularly known as NIT Surat, has invited applications from eligible candidates for recruiting 79 Assistant Professors.
About the Institutes: SVNIT offers 6 UG and 17 PG Programmes ,3 five years integrated M.SC . Programmes in Applied Science ( physics , chemistry , & mathematics ) and Doctors Programmes in Engineering , Applied Science & Humanities and is one of the leading NITS across the country .
Assistant Professor posts are available in the following departments: Mechanicals Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Electronics Engineering , Computer Science and Engineering , Civil Engineering , Applied Mathematics and Humanities (Applied Mathematics, Management and English) , Applied Physics and Applied Chemistry.
The total Number of Posts are 79.

Eligibility Conditions in Brief:
The Recruitment will be based on the Latest Ministry of HRD Guidelines applicable to NITs for recruitment of Faculty Posts.
- All new entrants shall have PhD in the relevant or equivalent discipline and shall have first class in the preceding degrees.
- For all Engineering Department B Tech. or any Equivalent Degrees and MTech or any Equivalent Degrees in Relevant Discipline.
- Candidates having PhD Degrees directly after BTech from reputed Institutions /University should also be Considered , if other norms are fulfilled.
- For Humanities /Management / Applied Science :B.A/B.S,B.COM OR any Equivalent Undergraduate Degrees and MPhil , MA., MSc, MBA, MCA, OR any Equivalent PG degrees in relevant
Selection Process: The selection process consists of scrutiny of applications and short listing followed by written test, presentation and interview. The written test shall be mandatory , for all the applicants and no exemption from written test shall be granted in any case .
The written test will be of multiple choice objective type based on the questions at bachelor’s degrees level.
