New Delhi, 25 October  2021: In India, there are 50 Central Universities (CUs) CUs are controlled by the central government.  These institutes offer attractive career opportunities for aspirants who wish to pursue in teaching.  CUs recruit faculty posts as per the UGC faculty recruitment norms.

Assistant Professor is the entry level job for teaching position sin CUS.

According to the UGC existing norms, candidates who qualify National Eligibility Test or State Eligibility Test (SET) are eligible to apply for the post of assistant professor. Candidates who have PhD degree in accordance with UGC regulations will be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.

The University Grants Commission (UGC), the regulator for Higher Education, has extended the date of applicability of PhD as a mandatory qualification for recruitment of Assistant Professors in Universities and Colleges from 01 July 2021 to 01 July 2023.

There are two Top Central Universities which have opened recruitment window for hiring Assistant Professors. The total vacant posts are 624 Assistant Professors.

  • University of Allahabad – 357 Assistant Professors – 06 November 2021 (Closing Date of Application)
  • University of Delhi – 267 Assistant Professors – Application Portal will open soon.

Prayagraj (Allahabad), 25 October 2021: University of Allahabad (UoA), a Central University, invites Online Applications from eligible candidates for the regular faculty posts.  These posts are available at the following levels: Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors.

Total Number of Posts:  The total number of posts are 597. Assistant Professors -357, Associate Professors – 170, and Professors- 70. These posts are available in 50Department / Centre / Institute / Discipline

Opportunities for NET and PhD Holders as University of Delhi Recruiting 267 Assistant Professors

New Delhi, 17 October 2021: University of Delhi (DU), a Central University, has announced recruitment of Assistant Professors. The total number of vacant posts have been  hiked to 267 in various departments.

University of Delhi (DU) has released the employment notice yesterday (24 September 2021) on its official website under Advt. No. Estab. IV/291/2021 dated 20.09.2021.  Earlier the total number vacant posts were 251. Then in an addendum notice, the vacant posts have hiked to 267 posts.

In a notice, DU informed that the Online application form will be made available shortly. The last date for submission of form will also be extended accordingly. The screening criteria makes a candidate eligible to be called for interview. Further, the exact number of candidates to be called for interview shall be on the basis of a shortlisting criteria to be notified separately. The last date will be declared in due course of time.

Pay Scale of Assistant Professor:  In the Academic Pay Level 10 as per 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
