Surathkal,  Karnataka, 06 October 2021: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surathkal, an Institute of National Importance, has announced recruitment of faculty posts. These posts are available at the following levels:  Assistant Professor (Grade-II) (On Contract), Assistant Professor (Grade-II), (On Contract), and Assistant Professor (Grade-I).

Total Number of Vacant Posts: The total number of vacant posts are 23. This is a Special Recruitment Drive for Teaching Positions for SC/ST/OBC (NCL).

Key Dates & How to Apply:  

Opening date of the online portal : 05 October 2021

Last date for online fee payment : 03 November 2021 till 5:00 p.m.

Last date for submission of online application : 05 November 2021 till 5:00 p.m.

Last date for submission of hard copy of application :  10 November 2021 till 5:00 p.m.

b) Civil Engineering

c) Computer Science and Engineering

d) Electronics & Communication Engineering

e) Electrical & Electronics Engineering

f) Information Technology

g) Mathematical and Computational Sciences

h) Mechanical Engineering

i) Metallurgical & Materials Engineering

j) Mining Engineering

k) School of Management

l) Water Resources and Ocean Engineering

Eligibility Conditions:

Essential/Desirable Qualifications:

All new entrants should have PhD in the relevant / equivalent discipline and should have First Class in the preceding degrees.

In case, first class is not mentioned in the preceding degrees awarded by the University / Institution, then the candidates should have secured at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate.

In case the candidate has secured CGPA under any other point scale (other than 10-point scale), then certificate issued by the authorized signatory (not the Mentor/Supervisor/Head of the Department) of the Institute / University to the effect of having secured first class in such degree must be attached. Alternately, the CGPA may be equivalently converted on 10-point scale for determination of eligibility.

Preceding Degrees (Basic degrees):

For faculty positions in Engineering Departments: B.E./B.Tech. or any equivalent degree and M.E./M.Tech. or any equivalent degree in relevant discipline.

Candidates having Ph.D. Degree directly after B.E./B.Tech. from reputed Institutions/Universities will also be considered, if other norms are fulfilled.

For faculty positions in Mathematics: MSc in relevant discipline

For faculty positions in School of Management: MA/MSc/MCom/MBA/MTech in relevant discipline.
