New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), A Maharatna PSU, has released recruitment notification for Management Trainees (Technical) Recruitment through Gate 2018. Management Trainees (Technical) posts are available in six engineering disciplines while recruitment will be based on GATE 2018 score.
Engineering Disciplines & GATE Paper: SAIL will be recruiting Management Trainees (Technical) in the following 6 engineering disciplines from GATE 2018. For Management Trainee (Technical) posts in SAIL, candidates having degree in related disciplines as per relevant GATE paper given below can apply against the respective discipline: Mechanical Engineering (ME); Metallurgical Engineering (MT); Electrical Engineering (EE); Instrumentation Engineering (IN); Mining Engineering (MN); Chemical Engineering (CH); and Mining Engineering (MN).
Upper Age Limit: 28 years. The upper age relaxation is applicable as per Govt norms. The cut-off date for determining upper age limit will be decided with reference to the closing date of receipt of application or as announced in the advertisement. The minimum age of employment on regular basis will be 18 years.
Minimum Qualification: Degree in Engineering (full time) with 65% marks (average of all semesters in all years), in six Engineering disciplines of Mechanical, Metallurgy, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical and Mining. The requisite qualification should have been acquired through a regular/ full time course from Universities / Institutions recognised/ accredited by councils/ bodies like UGC/ AICTE etc. set up by Central / State Govt. for the purpose.
The SC/ST/PWD and Departmental Candidates having Engineering Degree in the required disciplines with 55% marks (average of all semesters) shall be eligible to apply.
Note: The recruitment notification informed that only departmental candidates having acquired qualifying degree through correspondence/ part time courses from Universities/ Institutions recognised/ accredited by councils/ bodies like UGC/ AICTE etc. set up by Central / State Government for the purpose and who are eligible to sit for relevant GATE paper can apply for SAIL MT(T). The term departmental candidates means those candidates who are currently working with SAIL as permanent employees and not wards of SAIL employees.
SAIL will announce latter regarding the commencement of online registration for SAIL Management Trainees (Technical) by candidates.
Important Dates for GATE 2018 Examination:
Starting Date of Online Application Form: 1st September 2017 (Friday)
Closing Date of Application Form: 5 October 2017 (Thursday)
Date of Examination: 3rd 4th 10th and 11th February 2018
