New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases notification for Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2018. The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 588 including 18 PH(LDCP‐15 & HI‐03) vacancies. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration.

Key Dates: The Last date for submission of applications is 23 October 2017 (till 18.00 Hours). The Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2018 will be held on 07 January 2018 (Sunday) in 42 cities across the county. The ESE Main Exam will be held on 1 July 2018.

General Educational Qualification: The applicant should possess a degree in Engineering from a recognized University or Institute by the Government of India.

The candidates who have attained M.sc degree with Electronics, Wireless Communications and Radio Physics as a special subject can apply for certain posts.

Recruitment on the results of this examination will be made to the Services/ Posts under the following categories:

Category I‐Civil Engineering

Category II‐Mechanical Engineering

Category III‐Electrical Engineering

Category IV‐Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Examination Plan: The final selection of candidates is based on the following stages: Stage-I : Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) Examination (Objective Type Papers) for the selection of candidates for the Stage-II: Engineering Services (Main/Stage-II) Examination;

Stage-II: Engineering Services (Main/Stage-II) Examination (Conventional Type Papers)

Stage-III : Personality Test

Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
