Ropar: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has released admission notification for PhD progarmmes for the Academic Year 2017-18 Semester – II. The PhD Programmes are available in the following categories: Regular, Direct, External, and Part-Time.

Key Dates & Application Fees:  The application window has opened from 17 September 2017. The closing date for submission of application is 16 October 2017. The display of shortlisted candidates list for Entrance Exam on or before 06 November 2017. Application fee is Rs 200/- for GEN/OBC and Rs 100 /- for SC/ST/PwD/Women candidates.

Civil Engineering

Computer Science and Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering




Humanities and Social Sciences:  Economics, English Literature,  Linguistics, Management ,  Philosophy

 Center of Bio-Medical Engineering

Center for Materials and Energy Engineering

Selection Procedure: Selection will be based on written test or interview or both. Mere fulfilment of the minimum eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for PhD entrance test. TA will be provided to the shortlisted candiates appearing for Entrance Exam.

Research Fellowships: Generous Research Assistantships and other financial support for attending conferences within India and abroad are available as per MHRD norms subject to the conditions prescribed in the Institute regulations.
