Bhilai: Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand and Technical University, Bhilai, a state level public university in Chhattisgarh has released official admission notification for PhD Admission 2017. The PhD progarmmes are offered in 17 subjects under its 13 reseach centres. The total number of vacant seats in PhD programmes is 652, as per PhD admission notification. The various subjects/streams include Engineering & Technology, Applied Sciences, Social and Humanities, Management and  Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The university informed that the application should be submitted to the Principal/Director of the designated Centre of Research on or before 05 June 2017. The PhD candidates will be selected in a two state selection process: PhD Entrance Test and Personal Interview. There are some specified candidates are exempted from PhD Entrance Test.

Eligibility Conditions:

A candidate for the PhD must at the time of application

3.1 Holds Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of the University, a deemed University or any other University.

OR

He/ She possesses M.Phil. degree through a regular programme from an University, a deemed university or any other university. Who has at least three years of experience of research/teaching with at least three papers published in standard research journals (with ISSN) may be permitted to be reregistered for PhD degree, even if he/she does not possess 55% marks at Master’s Level.

OR

He/ She holds Bachelor of Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy Degree of are cognized University with at least 65% marks or equivalent in aggregate and possessing demonstrable research capabilities shall be eligible to seek enrollment for the Degree of PhD under special circumstances.

3.2 The requirement of marks at the Master’s level may be relaxed to a maximum of 5% for SC/ST/Differently abled candidates.

The requirements of entrance test is relaxed for

1. Candidates with valid scorecard of UGC/CSIR (JRF) examination, NET, SLET or GATE.
2. Candidates possessing MPhil degree through a regular programme from an University, a deemed university or any other university.
3. Teacher fellowship holder and University/College teachers holding a regular position(regular appointment) and has completed two years of service as teacher in a department of the University/affiliated college/Institution.
4. Scientist of any recognized National/International Institutions having two years of research experience.
